Duval Street Key West Bars, & Key West Nightlife
Key West bars are in a league of it's own when it comes to having great bars and having a good time out on the town. This tiny tourist destination is known for it's fantastic Key West nightlife. The town may also be known as the home of Hemingway but it may be better known as a town that really knows how to party!
Other than New Orlean's Bourbon Street there are few destinations that can rival the Key West bars on Duval Street for having loads of fun. It's a 365 day of the year Mardi Grai. Our Key West vacation rental is located just a short distance from the Duval street action!

Many of our frequent vacation rental guests will tell you that one of the Key West traditions that you definitely want to experience on your next trip would be any one of the Key West pub crawls. The most famous, the Duval Crawl, features a guided tour to Duval Streets most popular and fun bars. For around $30 you can join a group of fellow party connoisseurs on a two and half hour excursion through Key West's downtown and historic seaport area while enjoying a free drink in each bar you will visit.
The tour fee will usually include a tee shirt and other souvenirs as part of your tour. The bars will also have food specials just for the tour group to sample some of Key West's finest culinary delights. The tour guides I would point out are very entertaining and will include contests and lots of humor to liven up your adventure.
Another of Key West's favorite attractions when referring to night life would be any
of the party boat cruises. These floating bars are a great way to tour the islands while
enjoying your favorite beverages and live entertainment with your friends. Any of the Key
West sunset dinner cruises are well worth your time and money, there are two popular
cruises we would certainly recommend would be:
The Commotion on the Ocean - This is a popular cruise that you will have to make
reservations well in advance if you would like to experience some great music provided
by the folks from the Hogs Breath Saloon. With your fee you will receive live music from
some great local artists, all the wine, beer, and margaritas you can consume and tasty
appetizers on this two hour tour. The catamaran is 78 feet in length with plenty of
comfortable seating and the tour will end with a memorable Key West sunset.
Party Cat Comedy Cruise - This is your chance to experience loads of fun and laughter brought to you by Fury Waters Adventures. You will jump aboard the Party Cat for two hours of continuous improv by some of Key West's funniest comedians. The comics will spontaneously interact with the crowd and they will make you part of the act which can be absolutely hilarious. Cruises take place on Thursdays or Saturdays and include beer, wine and appetizers. The Party Cat also hosts the popular sunset dinner cruise if comedy is not your cup of tea.

Sloppy Joe's features some of the best live bands and music in town, 365 days of the year, and has entertained millions of patrons over the years. Don't miss out on the annual Hemingway look alike contest if you're in town in July or the wild Toga Party held during Fantasy Fest week in October.
Two of the other Key West bars coming in a close second to Sloppy Joes would be the Green Parrot and the Hogs Breath Saloon. The Green Parrot is considered a Key West icon and has received numerous awards as being one of the best bars in America. The building is over 120 years old and like Sloppy Joes makes you feel like you are back in time. They feature live entertainment and entertaining barkeepers and you can be assured that the place will always be hopping with patrons.
The Hog's Breath Saloon is another of the famous Key West bars that is a must do. They feature the not to be missed Home Made Bikini contest, which is held each November during the Jimmey Buffet Parrot Head party and the Hair of the Hog Leather and Lace Bloody Mary Party, which is held during Fantasy Fest Week in late October. Famous Key West Bars
In this article we will mention a few of the most popular Key West bars that are a must see whether it's your first or 50th trip to the Florida Key's. Just a short distance from our vacation rental resort property lies the first bar on the list Sloppy Joe's. This bar was a once favorite stopping place for none other than the distinguished writer, Ernest Heminway. It was Ernest himself that convinced the then owner, Joseph Russell to change the name of the bar to Sloppy Joes.
This most famous Key West bar still retains it's 19th century ceiling and cracked floors, both of which give the bar a historic ambience that simply can't be replicated. You'll feel like you just took a trip 100 years back in time.
